During their time in prison, the pair set up several programs, such as art classes, computer classes and computer classes.
While in prison, Sukumaran studied painting under renowned Australian artist Ben Quilty. In Febuary, 2015, Sukumaran was granted his associates degree in Fine Arts from Curtin University. He was able to sell his paintings to raise money to fund the programs inside the prison.
In his final days Sukumaran continued to paint, including a self portrait with a bullet hole through his chest.
During the early hours of April 29, 2015, Sukumaran was executed along with seven other drug criminals on the prison island of Nusakambangan.

Born in London, Myuran Sukumaran moved to Australia at age four.
In 2005 Sukumaran was arrested as part of the Bali Nine, a drug smuggling ring attempting to collectively export 8.3kgs of heroin out of Dempasar, Indonesia and into Sydney, Australia. In 2006, Sukumaran was given the death penalty, along with fellow Bali Nine leader Andrew Chan.
